Since the ongoing farmers protest has drawn everyone's attention, even the ‘apolitical’ ones shows sympathy and are concerned about the food provider (‘annadata’) and shows their solidarity in the protest.
It is necessary to analyze the character of ongoing protest.
The three farm laws are-

The Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, and The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act.

As for as the third ordinance straight away goes against the interests of the common people. This is the ordinance which directly affects large percent of masses and which permit hoarding of the essential food grains which leads to high price ,it is absolutely essential that it should be opposed.

The first and second laws are primarily linked with the demand to ensure the M.S.P.
And the second ordinance permit the contract farming by the private players, but the contract farming already existed indirectly. As we know that the marginalized farmers lend their farms to the rich farmers, and they decide the type of crop to be cultivated there and the price also(They own below the MSP from marginalized farmers approximately 60% of the total MSP) , Rich farmers give them loan at high interest rate than the government rate, and also make commercial profit among them(Sell fertilizer, seed, agricultural inputs, almost 70% of the irrigation material, household items, etc). Therefore in no way it has to be said that the relationship among marginalized farmers and rich peasantry, Kulak, commission agents are fair enough. More often than not, these rich farmers are themselves the traders and commission agents for farm produce as well as the blood-sucking moneylenders for the poor peasants. Therefore the two demands mainly affect the rich peasantry and does not influence marginalized peasants.

Hence this is the fight between the rich peasantry and the corporate players.
